“We got the house.”
The 2023 Executive Board poured their blood, sweat, and tears into acquiring a property for the fraternity. Our gratitude can’t be put into words for the efforts they made. This compound has made an unquantifiable difference in the quality of our events, the ability for outreach, and the strength of recruitment.
With Carney’s sitting right across the street, there’s seemingly infinite opportunities to take brotherhood to the next level, and we’ve already seen that in effect throughout the semester. We’re glad to call this place home.
RUSH WEEK
To start the Fall semester, our 24-man pledge class was the largest we’ve acquired since Fall of 2021. Though the chapter has seen a variety of pledge class sizes over the past three years, this one has truly brought a refreshing spark to chapter morale and future outlook. This accomplishment can be attributable to many factors, but the work that our Rush team put in this semester cannot go understated. Adam Peters and Aden Pritchett, our Head Rush Chairmen, put in an insurmountable level of work this semester to get us to where we are. We’re thrilled to see where Chi takes this chapter.
PHILANTHROPY
During the entirety of 2024, our organization as a whole has set a new standard for what we are capable of in terms of philanthropy. Last spring, we won 3rd place in IFC Olympics, raising more than $8,000 and contributing 200 volunteer hours. This semester, we’ve only raised the bar.
TENDERS WITH TAUS
$13,000
October 20th, 2024
We are excited to announce that our Third Annual Tenders with Taus event raised $13,000 in support of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4692. This achievement would not have been possible without the strong dedication and hard work of our active members and pledges, whose combined efforts were key to the success of this event. Impressively, the amount we raised is six times the amount we raised at the first edition of the event and three times more than last year's total.
This year, we hosted the event at Carney's, moving from our previous venue at the Spot. The new location provided a more open and relaxed atmosphere, which made the event even more enjoyable for everyone. Of course, being closer to home was a benefit as well.
The VFW representative spoke highly of our fraternity, emphasizing that we are setting a new standard for young men and redefining expectations in terms of community service and giving back.
We want to congratulate the Aggie Gentlemen of Integrity for winning the competition, and thank President Jon Cain for his leadership in organizing this event.
PAWS & TAUS
$2,750
September 14th, 2024
We are proud to announce that the Fall 2024 semester marks the return of Paws & Taus. Most current members have likely not experienced a Paws & Taus event before, so being able to bring it back, especially at our new property, was nothing short of a privilege.
The event raised $2,750 in support of the Longway Home Adoptables animal shelter in Bryan. With a focus on adoptions and fostering, our efforts helped find temporary homes for three dogs, bringing them closer to long-term adoption.
We made great use of the space at the compound by setting up a TV to watch football, booths for a bake sale run by shelter volunteers, and an area for concessions and drink sales that raised additional dollars toward the philanthropy.
We partnered with TAMU Paws for this event, and thoroughly enjoyed working with them. The shelter was thrilled with the outcome of our philanthropy and looks forward to partnering again in the future.
A special thank you to Vice President Dhruv Ruttala for organizing this event.
